OPTIHY Project
H2SITE participates in the OPTIHY project, an engineering study carried out with Petronor focused on integrating H2SITE’s membrane technology into an existing Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) unit at the refinery. The project consists of a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) study aimed at optimizing hydrogen production efficiency within a large-scale industrial facility.
The study evaluates the integration of H2SITE membranes into an SMR producing around 80 tons of hydrogen per day, enabling a reduction of approximately 12% in natural gas consumption while producing high-purity hydrogen (99.97%). This hydrogen quality is suitable for advanced applications such as fuel cells and other high-efficiency energy systems.
By improving efficiency in conventional hydrogen production processes, the OPTIHY project contributes to reducing energy consumption and emissions in existing industrial infrastructure, supporting the transition toward cleaner hydrogen production within the refining sector.
